Private-Label Mahjong Packaging: Boxes, Inserts, Labels, and Barcodes

A buyer checklist for private-label Mahjong packaging, including retail boxes, inserts, labels, barcodes, accessories, and sample approval.

Treat packaging as part of the product collection

Private-label Mahjong packaging should be planned with the tiles and accessories, not after them. The box, insert, label, barcode, instruction card, and internal protection all influence how the set is presented and shipped.

Start with the retail context: shelf, gift, travel, boutique, online fulfillment, or collector presentation. This helps the project team understand the packaging role before dimensions and artwork are finalized.

Prepare the brand assets and packaging brief

A useful packaging brief can include the brand logo, color references, typography, artwork, product name, barcode requirements, care or instruction text, insert direction, and any required language versions.

If some elements are not ready, mark them as open decisions. It is better to confirm a clean scope than to assume that a concept image contains final packaging artwork.

Coordinate the box with accessories and the full set

The packaging should accommodate the complete collection: tiles, racks, pushers, dice, chips, storage case, and any additional components. Coordinate the insert and internal layout with the final physical dimensions.

Ask for packaging review at the sample stage. The box, insert, labels, and accessories should be checked as a complete retail-ready direction rather than as disconnected pieces.

Confirm before quotation and production

Before production, confirm the packaging material, dimensions, artwork, finish, labels, barcode placement, inserts, accessory quantity, and carton requirements. Final scope should be reflected in the quotation and approved physical sample.
